DISCUSSION AND 48-HOUR OUTLOOK

At 200 AM PDT (0900 UTC), the center of Tropical Storm Andres was
located near latitude 20.2 North, longitude 124.9 West. Andres is
moving toward the northeast near 2 mph (4 km/h).  A gradual turn
toward the east-southeast is forecast tonight followed by a
southeastward drift on Friday.

Maximum sustained winds have decreased to near 45 mph (75 km/h) with
higher gusts.  Weakening is forecast during the next 48 hours, and
Andres is expected to become a remnant low by tonight or early
Friday.

Tropical storm force winds extend outward up to 125 miles (205 km)
from the center.

The estimated minimum central pressure is 1001 mb (29.56 inches).


HAZARDS AFFECTING LAND

SURF:  Swells generated by Andres are affecting portions of the west
coast of the Baja California peninsula.  These swells are likely to
cause life-threatening surf and rip current conditions.  Please
