DISCUSSION AND OUTLOOK ---------------------- At 900 PM MDT (0300 UTC), the center of Tropical Storm Blas was located near latitude 18.7 North, longitude 111.8 West. Blas is moving toward the west-northwest near 5 mph (7 km/h), and this general motion with a turn to the west is anticipated during the next couple of days. Maximum sustained winds are near 50 mph (85 km/h) with higher gusts. Slow weakening is forecast during the next 48 hours, and Blas is expected to become a remnant area of low pressure on Monday.
