DISCUSSION AND OUTLOOK ---------------------- At 500 AM HST (1500 UTC), the center of Hurricane Calvin was located near latitude 14.7 North, longitude 129.0 West. Calvin is moving toward the west-northwest near 16 mph (26 km/h). A westward to west-northwestward motion at a similar forward speed is expected for the next several days. Maximum sustained winds are near 100 mph (155 km/h) with higher gusts. Weakening is forecast through early next week. Hurricane-force winds extend outward up to 35 miles (55 km) from the center and tropical-storm-force winds extend outward up to 125 miles (205 km). The estimated minimum central pressure is 975 mb (28.80 inches).
