DISCUSSION AND OUTLOOK ---------------------- At 900 AM MDT (1500 UTC), the center of Tropical Storm Pilar was located near latitude 10.2 North, longitude 109.1 West. Pilar is moving toward the west near 15 mph (24 km/h), and this general motion is expected to continue through Sunday. A slower forward motion toward the west-northwest or northwest is forecast early next week. Maximum sustained winds are near 45 mph (75 km/h) with higher gusts. Small intensity fluctuations are possible during the day or so. Steady weakening is forecast early next week. Tropical-storm-force winds extend outward up to 60 miles (95 km) from the center.
