DISCUSSION AND 48-HOUR OUTLOOK ------------------------------ At 200 AM PDT (0900 UTC), the center of Tropical Storm Andres was located near latitude 19.2 North, longitude 124.8 West. Andres is moving toward the northwest near 8 mph (13 km/h). A turn toward the north and a decrease in forward speed are expected today. A slow eastward motion is forecast to begin tonight or Thursday. Maximum sustained winds have decreased to near 70 mph (110 km/h) with higher gusts. Continued weakening is forecast during the next 48 hours, and Andres is expected to become a tropical depression on Thursday. Tropical storm force winds extend outward up to 115 miles (185 km) from the center. The estimated minimum central pressure is 990 mb (29.24 inches). HAZARDS AFFECTING LAND ---------------------- SURF: Swells generated by Andres are affecting portions of the west coast of the Baja California peninsula.
