The depression is moving toward the northwest near 16 mph (26 km/h) and this general motion is expected for the next couple of days. Maximum sustained winds remain near 35 mph (55 km/h) with higher gusts. Some slight strengthening is possible, and the depression could become a tropical storm later today.
