The depression is moving slowly toward the west near 3 mph (6 km/h) and this general motion is expected to continue during the next couple of days. Maximum sustained winds are near 35 mph (55 km/h) with higher gusts. Gradual strengthening is forecast during the next 48 hours and the depression is forecast to become a tropical storm on Tuesday.
