The depression is moving toward the northwest near 9 mph (15 km/h). A turn toward the north-northwest is expected on Wednesday, followed by a turn toward the north and then then north-northeast with decreasing forward speed on Thursday. Maximum sustained winds remain near 35 mph (55 km/h) with higher gusts. The depression is forecast to become a tropical storm on Wednesday.
