DISCUSSION AND 48-HOUR OUTLOOK ------------------------------ At 300 PM MDT (2100 UTC), the center of Tropical Depression Fourteen-E was located near latitude 16.8 North, longitude 114.9 West. The depression is moving toward the north near 8 mph (13 km/h) and this motion is expected to continue through Thursday followed by a turn toward the north-northeast on Friday. Maximum sustained winds are near 35 mph (55 km/h) with higher gusts. Little change in strength is forecast during the next 24 hours, but the depression could become a tropical storm tonight or Thursday morning. Gradual weakening is forecast to commence on Friday.
