DISCUSSION AND 48-HOUR OUTLOOK ------------------------------ At 800 PM PDT (0300 UTC), the center of Tropical Storm Nora was located near latitude 11.7 North, longitude 139.9 West. Nora is moving toward the west near 14 mph (22 km/h), and a westward motion with a gradual decrease in forward speed is expected to continue for the next 48 hours. Maximum sustained winds are near 50 mph (85 km/h) with higher gusts. Some strengthening is forecast during the next 48 hours, and Nora is forecast to be near hurricane strength on Sunday night and Monday. Tropical storm force winds extend outward up to 35 miles (55 km) from the center. The estimated minimum central pressure is 1002 mb (29.59 inches).
