DISCUSSION AND 48-HOUR OUTLOOK ------------------------------ At 800 AM PDT (1500 UTC), the center of Post-Tropical Cyclone Olaf was located near latitude 26.7 North, longitude 135.1 West. The post-tropical cyclone is moving toward the east-northeast near 10 mph (17 km/h), and this general motion with a decrease in forward speed is expected today, followed by a turn toward the southwest and west-southwest on Wednesday. Maximum sustained winds are near 45 mph (75 km/h) with higher gusts. Weakening is forecast during the next 48 hours, and the post-tropical cyclone is expected to dissipate by Thursday. Gale-force winds extend outward up to 115 miles (185 km) from the center. The estimated minimum central pressure is 1000 mb (29.53 inches). HAZARDS AFFECTING LAND ---------------------- NONE.
