DISCUSSION AND 48-HOUR OUTLOOK

At 700 AM PST (1500 UTC), the center of Tropical Storm Rick was
located near latitude 17.3 North, longitude 115.1 West. Rick is
moving toward the west-northwest near 13 mph (20 km/h), and this
general motion is expected to continue through Sunday with a slight
decrease in forward speed. A turn toward the northwest and a further
decrease in forward speed are forecast Sunday night and Monday.

Maximum sustained winds are near 40 mph (65 km/h) with higher gusts.
Weakening is forecast, and Rick is expected to become a tropical
depression by tonight and weaken to a post-tropical remnant low by
Sunday night.

Tropical storm force winds extend outward up to 35 miles (55 km)
from the center.

The estimated minimum central pressure is 1003 mb (29.62 inches).
