DISCUSSION AND 48-HOUR OUTLOOK ------------------------------ At 1100 AM AST (1500 UTC), the center of Tropical Storm Ian was located near latitude 21.8 North, longitude 50.4 West. Ian is moving toward the northwest near 13 mph (20 km/h) and a turn toward the north-northwest is expected over the next day or so. On the forecast track, the center will continue to move over the Central Atlantic through Tuesday. Maximum sustained winds are near 40 mph (65 km/h) with higher gusts. Little change in strength is expected during the next day or so. Some slight strengthening is possible beginning Tuesday night.
