DISCUSSION AND 48-HOUR OUTLOOK ------------------------------ At 400 AM CDT (0900 UTC), the center of Tropical Depression One-E was located near latitude 16.1 North, longitude 94.8 West. The depression is moving toward the north near 2 mph (4 km/h) and a slow notion toward the north or north-northeast is expected to today and tonight. This motion should bring the center of the depression inland over southeastern Mexico later today. Maximum sustained winds are near 30 mph (45 km/h) with higher gusts. The depression is expected to dissipate tonight as it moves across southeastern Mexico. The estimated minimum central pressure is 1006 mb (29.71 inches). HAZARDS AFFECTING LAND ---------------------- RAINFALL: The depression is expected to produce total rain accumulations of 4 to 8 inches with maximum amounts of 12 inches over portions of southeastern Mexico. These rains could produce life-threatening flash floods and mud slides, especially in areas of mountainous terrain.
