Orlene is moving toward the west near 9 mph (15 km/h), and this general motion with a slight increase in forward speed is expected over the next 48 hours. Maximum sustained winds have increased to near 80 mph (130 km/h) with higher gusts. A gradual weakening trend is expected to begin by early Friday. Hurricane-force winds extend outward up to 15 miles (30 km) from the center and tropical-storm-force winds extend outward up to 80 miles (130 km).
