DISCUSSION AND 48-HOUR OUTLOOK ------------------------------ At 1100 PM HST (0900 UTC), the center of Tropical Storm Lester was located near latitude 23.3 North, longitude 158.0 West. Lester is moving toward the west-northwest near 15 mph (24 km/h), and this general motion is expected through tonight, followed by a gradual turn toward the northwest from Sunday through Sunday night. The forward motion is expected to slow slightly on Monday. Maximum sustained winds are near 65 mph (100 km/h) with higher gusts. Some additional weakening is expected through Monday. Tropical-storm-force winds extend outward up to 115 miles (185 km) from the center. The estimated minimum central pressure is 998 mb (29.47 inches).
