DISCUSSION AND 48-HOUR OUTLOOK ------------------------------ At 1100 AM HST (2100 UTC), the center of Post-Tropical Cyclone Lester was located near latitude 39.1 North, longitude 164.4 West. The post-tropical cyclone is moving toward the north-northeast near 25 mph (41 km/h). A turn toward the northeast with an increase in forward speed is expected by tonight. Maximum sustained winds are near 50 mph (85 km/h) with higher gusts. Little change in intensity is expected before the system becomes absorbed into the circulation of a larger extratropical low near the Gulf of Alaska on Thursday. Tropical-storm-force winds extend outward up to 90 miles (150 km) from the center. The estimated minimum central pressure is 1001 mb (29.56 inches).
