DISCUSSION AND 48-HOUR OUTLOOK

At 500 PM HST (0300 UTC), the center of Tropical Depression Fernanda
was located near latitude 19.0 North, longitude 144.8 West. The
depression is moving toward the west-northwest near 9 mph (15 km/h)
and this motion is expected to continue through system dissipation
on Monday.
 
Maximum sustained winds are near 35 mph (55 km/h) with higher gusts.
Continued weakening is forecast until Fernanda dissipates on
Monday.
 
The estimated minimum central pressure is 1006 mb (29.71 inches).
 
 
HAZARDS AFFECTING LAND

Surf...Large swells generated by Fernanda will continue to build
through the weekend along east facing shores of the main Hawaiian
islands.  The resultant surf will be large and potentially
