DISCUSSION AND 48-HOUR OUTLOOK ------------------------------ At 1100 AM EDT (1500 UTC), the center of Tropical Depression Emily was located near latitude 29.3 North, longitude 78.9 West. The depression is moving toward the northeast near 14 mph (22 km/h), and this general motion is expected to continue for the next couple of days. On the forecast track, the center of Emily will continue to move away from Florida today and remain well off the southeastern U.S. coast. Maximum sustained winds are near 30 mph (45 km/h) with higher gusts. Some slight strengthening is possible during the next day or so, but Emily is also forecast to lose its tropical characteristics within a day or two. The estimated minimum central pressure is 1011 mb (29.86 inches).
