DISCUSSION AND 48-HOUR OUTLOOK ------------------------------ At 1000 AM CDT (1500 UTC), the center of the recently formed Tropical Depression Nine-E was located near latitude 9.0 North, longitude 93.5 West. The depression is moving toward the west near 14 mph (22 km/h), and this motion is expected to continue during the next 2 days. This track will keep the core of the cyclone well south of the coast of Mexico. Maximum sustained winds are near 35 mph (55 km/h) with higher gusts. Some strengthening is forecast during the next 48 hours, and the depression is likely to become a tropical storm later today or Saturday. The estimated minimum central pressure is 1008 mb (29.77 inches).
