DISCUSSION AND OUTLOOK ---------------------- At 800 AM HST (1800 UTC), the center of Tropical Storm Ema was located near latitude 22.5 North, longitude 166.6 West. Ema is moving toward the northwest near 10 mph (17 km/h). Ema is forecast to begin moving toward the northwest at a slightly faster forward speed starting later today or tonight. This motion is expected to persist until dissipation of the system on Monday. Maximum sustained winds are near 40 mph (65 km/h) with higher gusts. Ema is expected to weaken to a tropical depression later today or tonight, followed by dissipation on Monday. Tropical-storm-force winds extend outward up to 40 miles (65 km) from the center. The estimated minimum central pressure is 1007 mb (29.74 inches).
