DISCUSSION AND OUTLOOK ---------------------- At 800 PM PDT (0300 UTC), the center of Tropical Depression Five-E was located near latitude 17.6 North, longitude 116.8 West. The depression is moving toward the north-northwest near 8 mph (13 km/h) and this motion is expected to continue through Tuesday. Afterward, a turn toward the northwest is expected on Wednesday followed by a turn toward the west-northwest on Thursday. Maximum sustained winds remain near 35 mph (55 km/h) with higher gusts. Some slight strengthening is possible over the next day or so, and the depression is expected to become a tropical storm Tuesday. By Wednesday, the tropical cyclone is expected to commence a weakening trend. The estimated minimum central pressure is 1006 mb (29.71 inches). HAZARDS AFFECTING LAND ---------------------- None.
