DISCUSSION AND OUTLOOK ---------------------- At 1100 AM HST (2100 UTC), the center of Tropical Storm Flossie was located near latitude 12.5 North, longitude 116.2 West. Flossie is moving toward the west near 18 mph (30 km/h), and this general motion is forecast to continue through Tuesday night with some decrease in forward speed. Afterward, Flossie is expected to turn toward the west-northwest and maintain that motion through Saturday. Maximum sustained winds are near 50 mph (85 km/h) with higher gusts. Strengthening is expected, and Flossie is forecast to become a hurricane on Tuesday. Tropical-storm-force winds extend outward up to 80 miles (130 km) from the center. The estimated minimum central pressure is 1001 mb (29.56 inches).
