DISCUSSION AND OUTLOOK ---------------------- At 1100 AM HST (2100 UTC), the center of Hurricane Flossie was located near latitude 12.3 North, longitude 121.3 West. Flossie is moving toward the west near 14 mph (22 km/h). A westward to west-northwestward motion at about the same forward speed is expected during the next few days. Maximum sustained winds have increased to near 75 mph (120 km/h) with higher gusts. Additional strengthening is expected during the next few days. Hurricane-force winds extend outward up to 25 miles (35 km) from the center and tropical-storm-force winds extend outward up to 80 miles (130 km).
