DISCUSSION AND OUTLOOK ---------------------- At 1100 PM HST (0900 UTC), the center of Hurricane Flossie was located near latitude 13.5 North, longitude 124.4 West. Flossie is moving toward the west-northwest near 15 mph (24 km/h), and this general motion is expected to continue through Friday. Maximum sustained winds are near 80 mph (130 km/h) with higher gusts. Some strengthening is possible during the next 2 to 3 days. Hurricane-force winds extend outward up to 30 miles (45 km) to the northeast of the center, and tropical-storm-force winds extend outward up to 105 miles (165 km) from the center.
