DISCUSSION AND OUTLOOK ---------------------- At 800 AM PDT (1500 UTC), the center of Tropical Storm Ivo was located near latitude 18.8 North, longitude 115.0 West. Ivo is moving toward the north-northwest near 10 mph (17 km/h) and this general motion is expected to continue for the next few days. Maximum sustained winds are near 60 mph (95 km/h) with higher gusts. Gradual weakening is expected over the next couple of days and Ivo is expected to weaken to a tropical depression on Saturday, and then degenerate into a remnant low by Sunday night. Tropical-storm-force winds extend outward up to 140 miles (220 km) from the center. A Mexican automated station at Clarion Island recently reported sustained winds of 45 mph (73 km/h) and a wind gust of 53 mph (85 km/h). The estimated minimum central pressure is 993 mb (29.33 inches).
