DISCUSSION AND OUTLOOK ---------------------- At 900 AM PDT (1600 UTC), the center of Tropical Storm Ivo was located near latitude 18.9 North, longitude 115.0 West. Ivo is moving toward the north-northwest near 10 mph (17 km/h), and this general motion is expected to continue for the next few days. Maximum sustained winds are near 65 mph (100 km/h) with higher gusts. Gradual weakening is expected over the next couple of days and Ivo is expected to weaken to a tropical depression on Saturday night, and then degenerate into a remnant low by Sunday night. Tropical-storm-force winds extend outward up to 140 miles (220 km) from the center. A Mexican automated station at Clarion Island recently reported sustained winds of 62 mph (99 km/h) and a wind gust of 76 mph (122 km/h). The estimated minimum central pressure is 992 mb (29.30 inches).
