DISCUSSION AND OUTLOOK ---------------------- At 800 PM PDT (0300 UTC), the center of Tropical Storm Ivo was located near latitude 23.4 North, longitude 116.6 West. Ivo is moving toward the north-northwest near 9 mph (15 km/h), and this motion is expected to continue through Sunday night. A turn toward the north and a decrease in forward speed are expected on Monday. Maximum sustained winds are near 40 mph (65 km/h) with higher gusts. Ivo is expected to weaken to a tropical depression tonight or Sunday and degenerate into a remnant low by Sunday night. Tropical-storm-force winds extend outward up to 140 miles (220 km) mainly to the southeast of the center. The estimated minimum central pressure is 1002 mb (29.59 inches). HAZARDS AFFECTING LAND ---------------------- SURF: Swells generated by Ivo are now spreading onto the west coast of Baja California peninsula and portions of the southern California coastline.
