At 1100 PM HST (0900 UTC), the center of Tropical Storm Akoni was
located near latitude 11.6 North, longitude 146.8 West. Akoni is
moving toward the west near 12 mph (19 km/h), and this motion is
expected to continue over the next couple of days, with an increase
in forward speed over the weekend.
 
Maximum sustained winds are near 45 mph (75 km/h) with higher gusts.
Little change in strength is forecast during the next 48 hours. 
 
Tropical-storm-force winds extend outward up to 70 miles (110 km)
from the center.
 
The estimated minimum central pressure is 1004 mb (29.65 inches).
