DISCUSSION AND OUTLOOK ---------------------- At 200 AM PDT (0900 UTC), the center of Tropical Storm Kiko was located near latitude 16.5 North, longitude 125.9 West. Kiko is moving toward the west-southwest near 5 mph (7 km/h), but it is expected to turn toward the west by Thursday, followed by a turn toward the west-northwest by Friday. Maximum sustained winds are near 50 mph (85 km/h) with higher gusts. Strengthening is expected to begin by tonight, and Kiko could become a hurricane again by late Friday. Tropical-storm-force winds extend outward up to 45 miles (75 km) from the center. The estimated minimum central pressure is 1002 mb (29.59 inches). HAZARDS AFFECTING LAND ---------------------- None.
