DISCUSSION AND OUTLOOK ---------------------- At 900 PM MDT (0300 UTC), the center of Tropical Storm Mario was located near latitude 13.2 North, longitude 109.3 West. Mario is moving toward the northwest near 9 mph (15 km/h). A northwestward motion with a decrease in forward speed is expected during the next several days, with Mario becoming nearly stationary by late Friday. Maximum sustained winds are near 40 mph (65 km/h) with higher gusts. Some strengthening is forecast during the next few days, and Mario is expected to become a hurricane by Friday. Tropical-storm-force winds extend outward up to 25 miles (35 km) from the center. The estimated minimum central pressure is 1004 mb (29.65 inches).
