DISCUSSION AND OUTLOOK ---------------------- At 900 AM MDT (1500 UTC), the center of Tropical Depression Mario was located near latitude 22.0 North, longitude 111.9 West. The depression is moving toward the north-northwest near 10 mph (17 km/h), and a turn toward the north is expected over the next day or two. On the forecast track, the center will move inland over the central Baja California peninsula on Tuesday. Maximum sustained winds are near 35 mph (55 km/h) with higher gusts. Weakening is forecast during the next 48 hours, and Mario should degenerate into a remnant low later today or tonight. The low is expected to dissipate by late Tuesday.
