The depression is moving toward the west near 5 mph (7 km/h). A slow west-southwestward motion is forecast to begin later tonight or on Friday. The system is forecast to drift northwestward over the weekend. Maximum sustained winds are near 35 mph (55 km/h) with higher gusts.
