DISCUSSION AND OUTLOOK ---------------------- At 900 AM MDT (1500 UTC), the center of Tropical Storm Iselle was located near latitude 20.3 North, longitude 114.7 West. Iselle is moving toward the north-northeast near 7 mph (11 km/h). A turn toward the north is expected later today with this motion expected to continue for another day or so. This should be followed by a turn to the northwest. Maximum sustained winds are near 45 mph (75 km/h) with higher gusts. Weakening is forecast, and Iselle is expected to become a tropical depression tonight or Sunday morning. The depression should then degenerate into a remnant low later Sunday or Sunday night. Tropical-storm-force winds extend outward up to 45 miles (75 km) from the center. The estimated minimum central pressure is 1001 mb (29.56 inches). HAZARDS AFFECTING LAND ---------------------- SURF: Swells generated by Iselle and a large area of southwesterly winds to its south are affecting portions of the southwestern and west-central coast of Mexico, as well as the west coast of Baja California Sur. These swells are expected to continue for the next couple of days and will likely cause life-threatening surf and rip current conditions. Please consult products from your local weather office.
