DISCUSSION AND OUTLOOK ---------------------- At 300 PM MDT (2100 UTC), the center of Tropical Depression Seventeen-E was located near latitude 15.8 North, longitude 109.1 West. The depression is moving toward the west near 10 mph (17 km/h). The system is expected to turn toward the west-northwest at a slightly faster forward speed during the next few days. Maximum sustained winds are near 30 mph (45 km/h) with higher gusts. Some strengthening is forecast and the system is expected to become a tropical storm in the next day or two.
