DISCUSSION AND OUTLOOK ---------------------- At 200 PM PDT (2100 UTC), the center of Tropical Storm Kevin was located near latitude 19.1 North, longitude 115.5 West. Kevin is moving toward the northwest near 9 mph (15 km/h). A northwestward or west-northwestward motion is expected over the next several days. Maximum sustained winds are near 50 mph (85 km/h) with higher gusts. Little change in strength is forecast through tonight. Gradual weakening is expected to begin on Wednesday. Tropical-storm-force winds extend outward up to 175 miles (280 km) from the center. The estimated minimum central pressure is 1000 mb (29.53 inches). HAZARDS AFFECTING LAND ---------------------- SURF: Swells generated by Kevin are affecting portions of the coast of southwestern Mexico, and will spread northward along the coast of Baja California Sur today.
