The depression is moving toward the north-northeast near 10 mph (17 km/h). Chantal is expected to move at a faster forward speed as it turns more northeastward over the next 24 hours. Maximum sustained winds are near 30 mph (45 km/h) with higher gusts. Some weakening is expected overnight as it moves farther inland with some slight restrengthening possible as it nears the Virginia Capes on Monday. The estimated minimum central pressure is 1007 mb (29.74 inches).
